On
Earth, William Snottengrout appears to be just an ordinary 11-year-
old boy with mousy hair and sticky out ears. He and his friend
Ellie are constantly being picked on by the school bully, Fat
Freddy, who makes their life a misery. And if that were not bad
enough, William’s father vanished two years ago—under mysterious
circumstances…
Then,
one day, something happens that turns William’s whole world around.
A strange old man in the local park tells him that he is not just
an ordinary boy, but a Warlord and a Prince. His missing father
is King of a magical land called ‘Umbajumba’, and has been imprisoned
by his evil uncle, Gangor, who has stolen the throne. The sacred
writings of Umbajumba decree that only William can save his father—and
the entire kingdom—from Gangor’s evil clutches. William bravely
undertakes the quest, but unfortunately Fat Freddy is transported
back to Umbajumba with him!
James
Cowey has written a great adventure full of action, humour and
excitement! His immensely enjoyable tale will leave you wanting
more!

I
came across this book completely by accident and thought I would
give it a go. It sounded like an exciting tale and lived up to
all my expectations. Every time I read a chapter, I found myself
wanting to read on and did so until it was finished. The characters,
creatures and locations were (excuse the pun) out of this world.
I found this journey through Umbajumba was funny, exciting, sad
and at times a little scary. Both William and Freddy reminded
me of my school days and Pikinee and Oni complimented them well.
(My 14 year old son, also enjoyed it.)

Leonie Lane
The
boy is a cobra... The cobra is a boy...
Freimon,
a young boy who lives alone on the magical island of Afridia,
is blessed with powers of becoming a King Cobra at will. With
special attributes including a powerful tongue and removeable
eyes, he is also a clever and cunning vampire with an appetite
for demons.
But everything is not perfect in his world, as an evil anaconda
named Venomli who lives in the sky in the land of Giantica is
planning to destroy the island and all of its inhabitants. Freimon
is the only one who can save the island, by obtaining an ancient
artifact called the 'Hand of Life'.
With friends and allies ranging from a talking pterodactyl, the
king of dogs, bird-people, and a fire-breathing dragon, Freimon

those he cares about. Along the way he learns the value of friendship,
and gains the courage to overcome horrific enemies and obstacles.
