A
twisting, page-turning, darn good yarn! Cappawhite was well-written,
engaging and heart-breaking. Tate's characters are well drawn
and believable.Mr. Tate also does a great job of pulling the
reader into his story and making you care what happens to each
person you encounter. The final resolution in this book is not
predictable, and haunting, and you find yourself moved, and
rooting for various characters. The story is also about love,
loyalty and sacrifice. A definite page-turner, and a riveting
read!

appawhite
is novelist Gerald Tate's first book, and, judging by the content
in the novel, he is a name to watch out for in the future. This
intriguing book is a cut above the usual horror story, as Tate
spends time fleshing out his characters and establishing what
drives these people to behave the way they do. Apart from the
chills and thrills, the novel contains stories of unrequited
love, miscarriages of justice, and unforgettable tales of gritty
crime in America. It has plenty of scary moments to please traditionalists,
and Tate's natural knack for good storytelling will bring those
unaccustomed to this sort of story crying out for more from
this author.
Tate's
approach to this spooky Irish story is unique and original:
it is a love story, a ghost story and, best of all, a gripping
thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. You will
empathise with the main characters and be totally taken by their
plight as you hope against hope that each one will get through
this alive, without having to make the ultimate sacrifice. Spinetinglers
recommends Cappawhite, and cannot wait to read the sequel, so
come on Gerald, keep writing!

Suspense, legend and mystery combined... Author
Gerald Tate was born and lives in Belfast. Although his first
novel, Cappawhite displays Tate's ability to hold the reader
in the suspenseful palm of his hand until just the right moment.
He has a knack for the macabre and we look forward to more by
this author. Filled with interesting characters and entertaining
interactions.
